KINGS GO WILD IN MINNESOTA AND WIN 5-2

This is the way to start a New Year’s celebration! Murray switched the lines around. Here is what we got.

Smyth-Kopitar-Brown

Parse-Richardson-Simmonds

Frolov-Handzus-Segal

Ivanans-Moller-Harrold

The first three goals were classic Ryan Smyth goals…except the first one was scored by Brad Richardson parked in front of the net and whacking at the puck and the second by Frolov who just would not give up on the play. His first shot was poked away, his second one was blocked and the third was buried.  Smyth scored the third goal of the game on the powerplay as he tipped in a Drew Doughty shot.

The Kings dominated the Wild in the first and led 3-0.

Michal Handzus gave the Kings a 4-0 lead with his continued and consistent strong play. Zeus received a beautiful pass from Frolov and banged it home.

The Wild scored two to close the gap but it meant little as the Kings came to play and win and Quick showed the Wild why he is one of the best goaltenders in the league.

Frolov ended the scoring with an empty netter to give the Kings a 5-2 win.

Let’s get the party started!

GO KINGS!
