AN ODE TO FROLOV, WHO HAS LEFT THE KINGS FOR MORE CONGESTED PASTURES

Seven years we saw you skate, always with a smile

Some watched with gilded lids, others let loose their bile

Heavy loops you spun round and round, wrapped through many a corner

Oh Fro the loveable loaf, the oft scaped goat donor

And now today you don the blue rag, leaving a winged left rift

I will miss you Fro, I hope you enjoy Manhattan’s fashion district.

In all seriousness, Frolov signed a 1-year, $3 million contract with the New York Rangers today.

Fruit Loop, as I affectionately called him for many years (fruit as in goofy, loop as in wrap around), was our longest tenured active King up until July 1st, a title now held by Dustin Brown.

Two Russians down. None to go.

Assuming Kovalchuk’s arbitration sees him through as a lifetime Devil, start thinking trade boys and girls. There’s more than one way to pluck a Russian LW.

  1. Since I started following the King’s on a daily basis (2004ish), Fro has been one of my favorite King’s players. It’s definitely sad to see him go. I wish him all the best.
