The first group came and went. The boys were loose and looked relaxed. Wayne Simmonds and Jack Johnson had quite a bit of spring in their step, so much so that Handzus at one time pinned Jack along the boards and with a rye grin on his face wouldn’t let him get up. Bernier looked solid in the beginning but let a few lazy ones get by him toward one of the middle scrimmages.

Quick was exactly that…quick and just as intense and competitive as ever especially with Kopitar’s rear end in his face on several plays. Quick never gives up on a play, which is fast becoming his trademark. Jake Muzzin received a few lectures about breakouts from coach Murray.
