THREE NEW FEATURES TO LAKINGSNEWS.COM

Surly & I will have three new additions to the site at the start of the season on October 9.

The first two will be pages at the top of the screen called “GOALIE TRACKER” & “LINEUP CARD”. Don’t look for them now…remember, October 9.

“Goalie Tracker” will follow each of Quick and Bernier’s games. This page will indicate period by period each big save (a serious momentum changer or game saver) or bad goal. It will also give a quick (pun intended) analysis of the goalie’s performance. This tracker should come in handy as the season progresses. It will help our readers look back at our two-headed dragons’ progress, all in one page.

“Lineup Card” is dedicated to coach Murray. Each game’s starting lineup (defense included) will be listed. If there are major changes during the game, we will track that as well. We will assign a grade and give a short (you see what I did there) analysis of each line. This will help our readers evaluate if there is any actual rhyme or reason to the line changes by gauging results while seeing which lines get the most and least shuffle.

Finally, each week, we will bring “IN FOCUS” one player. Surly or I will choose a player from the team and keep our keen eyes on him throughout the week. At the end of each week, we will do a write-up of that player’s performance. If we see a player take his game to another level throughout the season, we will likely come back to him. This feature is all about watching in what situations our boys excel and where they may need improvement.

  1. Can’t wait for these new features!

  2. I’m really excited about this. Any time you can gather information and put it together in a sortable group, you enhance your understanding of a situation.

The In Focus sounds good too.
