Thanks to Helene Elliott for confirming it via the LA Times.
There were no surprises in the 23-man roster the Kings submitted to the NHL on Wednesday.
As Coach Terry Murray said Tuesday, the Kings will open the season Saturday at Vancouver with six rookies on the roster. Here’s the roster, by position (* denotes rookie)
Goaltenders (2)
Jonathan Bernier*
Jonathan Quick
Defense (7)
Drew Doughty
Davis Drewiske
Peter Harrold
Jack Johnson
Willie Mitchell
Jake Muzzin*
Rob Scuderi
Forwards (14)
Dustin Brown
Kyle Clifford*
Michal Handzus
Anze Kopitar
Trevor Lewis*
Andrei Loktionov*
Alexei Ponikarovsky
Brad Richardson
Brayden Schenn*
Wayne Simmonds
Ryan Smyth
Jarret Stoll
Justin Williams
Kevin Westgarth
Only 20 players can dress for each game.
Left wing Scott Parse (groin, retroactive to Sept. 22) and left wing Ray Kaunisto (foot, retroactive to Sept. 23) have been placed on the injured reserve list. Defenseman Matt Greene (shoulder), center Marc-Andre Cliche (knee), defenseman Viatcheslav Voynov (shoulder) and defenseman Colten Teubert (wrist) are on the non-roster list.
As Helene said, no surprises here. I keep looking at the name Peter Harrold and wondering how long that will last. I like Peter. He has been a utility guy and I have seen first hand how hard he has worked at camp. He appears to have come into this season in better shape and ready to play…I just can’t help but question whether an elite defensive core has Peter Harrold among it.

I think Harrold has looked better than Drewiske through camp and preseason.
