Loved the Norstrom tribute. Right length and the fans were loud, thankful and amazing.
As for the game, its a sad thing when you have Travis Zajac, Patrick Elias, Jamie Langenbrunner, Zach Parise and Ilya Kovalchuk and Dainus Zubrus if your best player. He was flying out there, but he was the only one. I guess an offsseasons worth of trade rumors surrounding you will light quite the fire in your belly.
The score? 1-0 Kings.
You fans are true to your poll votes. Kovalchuk is getting booed mercilessly. He even got booed just for hitting the ice on his first shift.
He got one shot. If you can call it a shot. Some might use a different term. Shank.
Devils don’t move their feet.
Dustin Brown and Brad Richardson are on fire. Richie is a hound dog on that puck and Brown’s backchecking is on an elite level tonight.
Williams goal was a snipe off the rush through traffic.
The Devil’s fan behind me hasn’t shut up the entire game. One more reference to the past and I might have to remind him there are about as many Devil’s fans here at Staples (a few hundred) as there are at the Prudential Center in Newark.
Quick is on. Broduer is ready to cave.
I’m expecting a second period explosion by the Kings. That is if Matt Greene doesn’t take too many penalties trying to kill anyone in red.
