Ryan Malone called it a joke.
Mattias Ohlund referred to it as embarrassing.
My favorite reaction was that of goalie, Dan Ellis: “It’s embarrassing for him. You come into a league, a respectful league like this, and you try a little move like that. It’s not a very classy thing. That’s just the kind of person he is.”
Hmmm…Omark didn’t look too embarrassed. In fact, I am pretty sure he just made Ellis look like a complete fool with that shootout move and goal. Hey, if the shoe fits…
Way to go, kid. When you are a little more seasoned and prove you belong, we would be happy to take you off the Oilers’ little hands for a song.
The kid did the spin move AT THE BLUE LINE and you’re so befuddled you can’t stop the puck? Yeah, I guess it would have been much better if he had skated in on you, put the puck between his legs, kicked it to his stick and roofed it on you…you asshole! If you don’t see any of that crap in practice, you should bat your goalie coach across the head with the paddle. Quit whining Ellis.

Actually if you look at it, Omark was quite respectful. After he scored, he didn’t make a spectacal of a celebration. He gave a small fist pump and skated back to the bench. You don’t think he knew what was at stake if he missed? Ovechkin’s celebrations are actually disrespectful.
Ellis/Lightning players, get over it you bunch of pansies. St. Louis has done a move in a shootout that is not that different. If Stamkos did that, you guys would be fully supportive of him. Stamkos taking a slapshot like that in a shootout was disrespectful.
