KINGS KICK THEIR OWN ASS 3-2

KINGS SCORED IN THE FIRST MINUTE!
But it was called back due to a phantom skate in the crease / interference call.

THE REFEREES SUCKED!
But they did call nine penalties against Minnesota.

KINGS DREW NINE PENALTIES AGAINST THE WILD!
But managed to score on only one of them including a wasted 4 minute powerplay in the third.

KINGS DOMINATED MOST OF THE GAME!
But managed to cycle endlessly, not shoot enough and only put two past Theodore.

JONATHAN QUICK MADE SOME AMAZING SAVES!
But screwed the pooch with two turnovers that directly led to goals.

DREW DOUGHTY SURE PLAYED PHYSICAL!
But managed to take an obvious interference penalty that led to the game winning goal in overtime.

Jekyll. Hyde. Bipolar. Pick your punctuating reference. They all apply. The most frustrating game I have watched this season. I am out of breath and temporarily out of words. Your turn.

  1. That was so frustrating to watch, and the calls on both sides were so crappy. I hope that they play better on the road trip and that game turns out to be just one of those anomalies that occur during a season. A temporary lapse of concentration, and you shake your head and refocus and go on from. The powerplay clearly needs major work, and hopefully the acquisition of Sturm helps that immensely (and wipes away most of my misgivings about the deal). Just an awful, difficult game to watch.

  2. No fooling! Worst game of season for doing ourselves in!
We are indeed a Heckler and Hyde team.
    Ahhh….

  3. Sat in the stands just mystified.

Not Johnny Quick’s finest moment and he knows that. I thought it was kind of tacky to boo the guy every time he handled the puck–I didn’t that and admonsihed my son (only 9) when he began to do that. Actually, if it were not for those two giveaways, he coulda had a shutout !!!

For this loss, should not be placed solely on Quick’s shoulders. The powerplay was anemic. A lot of time in the zone without enough shots or “net presence”. This was the real issue.

I’m beginning to be a bit sour on Doughty–that was a stupid penalty.

This whole game was a piece of shit. Put it in the rear view mirror and move on…

  4. How about that Clifford fight? That was good old time looking hockey! Oh and Poni’s hit was fun too.. The rest…not so much.

  5. The Clifford fight was fantastic, and the Simmonds tilt was great as well. The rest of the game was terribly frustrating, and certainly not the way you want to head out on the road trip. They know they can do better than that.

  6. Toward the end of the second period, and the Ducks have already scored 5 on the Wild. Awful…
