OUR DESTINY IS OURS AGAIN. KINGS BEAT FLAMES 4-3 IN SHOOTOUT

Tonight, Justin Williams was a Hockey God. Omnipotent. Omnipresent. His magic stick knew goals, gave assists and exalted its greatness over Kiprusoff and the Calgary Flames.

As hard as I have been on Murray, let’s hear it for Terrysaurus on the shootout selection. He evolved. He thought outside of his box. To put out Handzus and Stoll as the first two shooters shows our coach playing the percentages. May that thinking trickle down to our offensive structure.

Enough from me.

Let’s hear from you.

We hold our destiny in our hands again. Let 8th place be the first step of this ascent.

  1. It was a great win! Would have liked to see us win it in regulation and deny the flames a goal but overall I was happy with the outcome. Oh and I was pleasantly surprised at the so selection as well! Zus and Stoll came through for us.

    GO KINGS GO!

  2. I wasn’t completely sold on the power play, but results are results.

Willy drove the middle with the puck, but then tried to pass to the point, with Brown wide open on the side of the net. Luckily it deflected back and he did get the pass off to Brown who took a wack at it and scored. Why he didn’t just go strait for Brown is what drives me crazy. It’s like it’s ingrained in their DNA to pass to the point.

    Shouldn’t complain, that’s 3 in the last 2 games.

  3. I can’t begin to explain how happy I was to see Zus & Stoll in the so lineup. I also would’ve liked to see it end with a win in regulation, but 5 out of 6 points so far? I’m stoked. That one save from Quick during the so where he swatted it out of the air? Awesome.

Has anyone else noticed that Kopitar is getting shutdown in so’s lately? It seems like he’s always going for an up-close move yet now goalies expect it and he gets blocked.

    GO KINGS GO!!

  4. That was a great win, in that we got it in Calgary, we kept fighting after they battled back three times, and we did what we had to do to get back into the playoff picture. Now all we have to do is stay there, no small task that. We can’t keep giving points to conference foes, even if we take the second point in a shootout and maintain playoff position, we have to start winning these games in regulation, and that will only get harder the rest of the way, but the boys are off to a good start for the trip. The next leg of our February journey will be very tough, indeed, and we can’t afford to give an inch here.

  5. What does it mean that in the first game between these 2 teams since Rene Bourque speared Brown in the nuts (12/9/10) that nobody sought to take a run at Bourque? Letting bygones be bygones; forgetfulness; wanting to do so back in L.A.; nobody willing to stand up for the captain; or simply no appropriate opportunities?

Whatever, I’m glad we got the 2. We just need to stay the course….

    Where’s the Vermin?

  6. It was Doubty, not Brown.

  7. If you not watching the Boston-Canadians game, you should be. Action, action, action!

  8. Things not looking good for the kings… Ducks beating Van. Sharks win, nashville win, phx and dallas 3 point game, Minnesota won
