Sports’ writer and friend of puck, Jon Moncrief, died early this morning. Jon was the creative director and co-host of Inside Sports. I enjoyed his writing and respected his coverage of our Kings. I only met Jon once. He was kind and compassionate. Everyone who I have heard speak or write of him echoes the same sentiment. It appears he leaves a legacy of intelligence, kindness & empathy for others. May we all be so fortunate in how we conduct ourselves in life.
Jon’s cause of death is believed to be a pulmonary embolism. He was 42 years old.
My condolences to everyone who knew Jon and was blessed by his kinship, friendship and prose.
