THEY ARE RIOTING IN VANCOUVER

I thought Vancouver was a city of laid back pot smokers? The logic appears to be, if you can’t beat them, burn down your own house. This isn’t just a few idiots. The pictures tell the story.

    • I’m seriously sickened. Expect a verbal thrashing of these idiots from me tomorrow of equal proportion to their stupidity this night.

… Still butthurt, huh? Your team of virtuous American Heroes (TM) won the series! How about enjoying that instead?

      • I think this is a fair point, for me at least. It didn’t matter who played the Bruins. If it wasn’t the Kings, I would be rooting for Thomas although the fact it was Vancouver did make it a tab bit sweeter ;)

    • And this is not a “few bad apples”. Anyone who says that is spinning it. The photos and videos show otherwise. Even Kurtenblog from the Province, which is a popular Canucks’ site, has stated this fact.

  6. Seriously???? My whole life is revolving around my chance to be handcuffed face down in front of a portable toilet??????????????????????????????????

    JUST PLAIN DUMB!!!!!!

  7. Butthurt? Have you lost your mind and your scruples?

I enjoyed the victory plenty. I went to a movie after the game. I didn’t even realize this shit had gone down until I got home at midnight.

Forgive my disgust…. I didnt realize it was indicative of fan bias to look at these actions and be appalled.

Or perhaps it’s better to just ignore this, eh? Just keep pretending the fans in Vancouver are a nice bunch of folks just like any other. I’ve got a nice black veil you can use JT. You won’t see shit.

    • Butthurt?

… Oh my god, you still are – aren’t you? That makes me sad.

Forgive my disgust…. I didnt realize it was indicative of fan bias to look at these actions and be appalled.

… Welp, I’m more than happy to help you out in this regard. It definitely IS fan bias, in this case anyway.

Or perhaps it’s better to just ignore this, eh? Just keep pretending the fans in Vancouver are a nice bunch of folks just like any other.

… Not saying it’s better to ignore it, but to feign such outrage over something that a few people started, people who didn’t have anything to do with the Canucks or their fans – it’s just weak.

I’ve got a nice black veil you can use JT. You won’t see shit.

… Have you used that veil? Did you miss the riots in Boston after winning the ’04 World Series and the ’08 NBA Title? Did you miss the riots here in L.A. after various Lakers’ championships? Those cities who are without sin can go ahead and cast some stones. The rest need to realize that they’re no better, build a bridge, and get over it.

      • I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am entertained…

      • Well first of all JT, the conversation has moved on to oh, i dunno, that whole article i wrote about the topic. But by all means, please continue to base my entire opinion of this incident off a comment i made at 1am, sufficiently drunk.

I am still trying to figure out what i am butthurt about. Maybe you can help me because you got me stumped. It feels like an ad hominen attack on someone who is not in the room.

So…. If i wasn’t a biased fan I would look at the riots and think ‘cool’? Or ‘no biggie’? Again, I’m confused because you are having a conversation with me that i feel like i am not involved in.

I don’t feign anything. My outrage is perfectly real and full fledged. And a few people? I don’t consider thousands a few. Maybe relative. Besides, I’m not sure I really buy the whole conspiracy theory anyways. I’m supposed to believe that these riots happen all over the globe with sports, but when it’s Vancouver, it’s just a bunch of subsersive anarchists who as you say, ‘didn’t have anying to do with the Canucks’? Bogus. Let’s assume there was such a group… They didn’t burn the city down by themselves. Maybe they helped instigate, but if you believe that a bunch of true Vancouver fans didn’t join in with them, you are truly naive. Besides, this whole blame on people who aren’t Canuck fans at all sounds very similar to the blame Canucks fans often throw at the refs or at Bettman. I’m not saying, and never did say, that All Canuck fans are responsible for this, but you are saying that none of them are… Why no middle ground? Must you see me as diametrically opposed to your standpoint when i am actually standing in between two extremes?

As for your last comment, once again, read the damn article i wrote already and let’s take this discussion over there.

        • Also, if it truly was just a few people, then shame on the tens of thousands who stood by and watched as ‘just a few people’ wrecked so much havoc on their city. Yu can’t have it both ways. Either it was a large group of people, hence uncontrollable due to numbers which would then logically include Canuck fans, or, it wasnt very many people, who weren’t Canuck fans, that then makes the hoards idly watching complicit in that they did nothing to stop it. Unless you are gonna tell me that 80,000 people should be scared of ‘just a few’.

  8. I’m just thankful it WASN’T LA this time. You just KNOW there will be a riot when the Kings win the Cup. We riot if we win, we riot if we lose. I just hope we have the turnout for the victory parade that Boston had for their victory parade – wow. Also, football (as in the European variety) has far more violence at games I believe. The Canucks are a classless team anyway – best possible defeat – Tim Thomas is such a class guy. THERE’S NO CRYING IN HOCKEY LOL….

  9. One important thing that’s missing here. There’s more Vancouver boobies, and the nipples have been edited out.

    Nothings more important than boobies.

  10. … By the way, I’m thinking that this is more representative of the face of Vancouver Canucks’ fans and Vancouver people in general.
