The LA Kings signed Trevor Lewis to a two-year contract ($1.45 million total) and Marc-Andre Cliche, Rich Clune, David Meckler, Andrew Campbell, Patrick Mullen and Jeff Zatkoff to one-year contracts. On deck are
Corey Elkins (whose signing is almost official), Bud Holloway (who I want to see signed) and some kid named Drew Doughty who apparently plays defense. Corey Elkins has gone Oscar.
Holloway is 23 years old. He has good size at 6’0″ and 200 pounds. He is a right-handed shot, can play left or right wing and is a big game player. He had 7 goals and 7 assists in 16 games during the 2010 Calder Cup Finals. He tied an AHL record for game-winning goals in one post-season with six and scored the game-winning goal in each game of the Monarchs four-game sweep of the Portland Pirates. What does a boy have to do to get a shot at the big club? Rather than converting centers to wings on the 4th line, will the LA Kings sway toward Holloway? He may look pretty not bad alongside Trevor Lewis and Scott Parse. What do you think? GO KINGS!
