Embrace Your Loved Ones…

Early this morning, I received a call from a friend who told me about the plane crash that killed the majority of the KHL team, Lokomotiv. I have read the stories, as you have as well. The team’s main roster was on the plane plus four players from the youth team. Only one player from Lokomotiv survived – Alexander Galimov, a 26-year-old forward who has burns to 80-percent of his body. He is in critical condition.

Here is the Puck Daddy article.

Former L.A. King forward, Pavol Demitra was aboard.

When I get home tonight, I am going to pick up my daughter, walk to my wife and embrace them both. We shouldn’t need reminders like this that life, regardless of who you are and what you do or have done, can be taken away from you in an instant. You can choose to live and love within each moment or let them pass until there are none left.

  1. Very well said Bobby.

This is just awful and is a sobering reminder that our lives can end at any moment. I just pray for their families as they have to deal with this harrowing news.

my words fail me right now..

  3. Complete shock here. I wish there was something we could do to make all the hurt go away. This is a sad day for hockey fans around the world. I pray that God gives the families the strength to get through such a horrible time in their lives.

  4. This is such a terrible tragedy and I agree with you Bobby we need to embrace what we have…even such things as our jobs we complain about every day or our friends, family anyone or everything which we tend to take for granted.

Just so, so sad and my heart goes out to the families whose lives will never be the same again.

  5. I can’t help but think of Ace Bailey and Mark Bavis.

  6. There are reports that Galimov passed away later in the hospital due to injuries suffered in the crash.

  7. What a horrible off season for Hockey deaths… Prays go out for all families involved…
