To use a Sutterism ‘Awesome”, Nicolas. And that’s a lot of footage to edit into a terrific 5 min synopsis. I esp. like the beg with the revist to Gretzy’s Kings and the current Finalists. Nice touch with showing Gretzy leading the team out from the room and Richards today. I’d say more but I need to watch it again.
Thanks! I really wanted to remind everyone the heartache and sorrow of that 92 Stanley Cup Final so they could appreciate all the golas leading to Cup.
I remember watching it as a kid and crying when the Kings lost in the cup final and then fast forward to 2012 and I am crying at the Staples Center for completely the opposite reason.
“How about this fuckin team right here” J Quick! GKG
Great video man, I still get teary eyed
Is it crazy that I am still in shock and wondrous awe and that I can’t believe this elation is real and still causing tremors of joy constantly? This fucking team!
Not crazy…ride that wave for all it’s worth. Watch this video and the others and relive it again…watch the DVD over and over and scream again when Richards destroys Burrows, Brown damanges Sedin and Doughty demolishes Doan and pump your fist and get giddy when that final buzzer goes off. You’ll need to practice these things so next year when the Kings repeat, you’ll be a pro
Great video! Any S&S readers call section 322 their season ticket home? That’s where I’ll be this coming year.
Ill be in 320 this year! And glad u liked the Vid!
The Music Choice was outstanding.
Music: My Chemical Romance – Welcome To The Black Parade
When I was a young boy
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band
He said “Son, when you grow up
Would you be the savior of the broken
The beaten and the damned?”
He said “Will you defeat them
Your demons and all the non-believers
The plans that they have made?
“Because one day I’ll leave you
A phantom to lead you in the summer
To join the black parade.”
When I was a young boy
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band
He said “Son, when you grow up
Would you be the savior of the broken
The beaten and the damned?”
Sometimes I get the feeling she’s watching over me
And other times I feel like I should go
And through it all, the rise and fall, the bodies in the streets
And when you’re gone we want you all to know
We’ll carry on
We’ll carry on
And though you’re dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
Will carry on
And in my heart I can’t contain it
The anthem won’t explain it
A woman sends you reeling from decimated dreams
Your misery and hate will kill us all
So paint it black and take it back
Let’s shout it loud and clear
Do you fight it to the end
We hear the call
To carry on
We’ll carry on
And though you’re dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
Will carry on
And though you’re broken and defeated
Youe weary widow marches on
On and on we carry through the fears
Disappointed faces of your peers
Take a look at me ’cause I can not care at all
Do or die
You’ll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Though they try, they’ll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
I won’t explain or say I’m sorry
I’m not ashamed, I’m gonna show my scar
Give a cheer for all the broken
Listen here, because it’s only
I’m just a man, I’m not a hero
Just a boy who’s meant to sing this song
Just a man, I’m not a hero
I don’t care
We’ll carry on
We’ll carry on
And though you’re dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
You’ll carry on
And though you’re broken and defeated
Youe weary widow marches on
Do or die
You’ll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Though they try, they’ll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
Do or die
You’ll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Though they try, they’ll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
According to many musicologists, the lyrics can be often used for many meanings beyond the original meaning of the lyrics arising from The Black Parade rock opera centering on a dying character with cancer known as “The Patient”.
To me, the music with the visual portray how the Kings finally overcome the past adversity and achieved the utimate victory, breaking new records that will likely never be duplicated.
Fight on, fight on, GO KINGS GO!
i hardly ever post on here, but i read it everyday. that was fucking awesome! i got tears rolling down my face right now like a little bitch.
I had tears welling in my eyes, but they didn’t roll down my cheeks.
So I guess that makes me a little wienie.
