Scribe’s Tuesday Thoughts and Tidbits

Random thoughts…

A lockout means I save money, see my family more, eat 41 more home cooked meals between now and next April and I am fucking pissed off about it.

I like dogs because they are not people. I like people because they are not cats.

On a keyboard, the letter “F” is to the right of D. The letter “S” is to the left of D. Do Ducks fans think this is coincidence? You fucking suck!

How the hell can you screw up calling a game with 15 minutes of action? It’s football for goodness sake. They can’t focus for 15 minutes out of 3 hours? The league are morons. Don’t bring in replacement officials with a severe case of ADD.

I have watched game 6 a total of 27 times. I have watched the recorded locker room celebration 34 times. I have watched the LA Kings DVD 23 times…and the movie Miracle twice in the past month. Beat that!

Today, amid a busy day at work, I took a minute to think about what I would do to Gary Bettman if I had 20 minutes alone with him. It brought me peace.

My wife says the L.A. Kings winning the Stanley Cup won’t be “real” for her until I get my Kings tattoo. Yet, she won’t let me put it where I want it. I may have to go with an old maxim that has served me well over the years…sometimes, in the name of progress, it is easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

  1. Some of my Kings’ friends had an outstanding idea. When this stupid and farcical owner tantrum is concluded the players should stand firm as a prerequisite that Bettman goes. So no NHL deal unless Bettman gets a big fat pink slip.
As for life with out NHL hockey I am taking my methadone and the withdrawals are less than first feared.
I certainly do not miss bumper traffic on the Harbor Fwy. That also includes sucking fumes too.
Also for substitute diversion, I even went to the home opener for the Galaxy at the HD Ctr.
I also remembered we have the best beaches in the USA so that I have hit some of the best ones up and down the coast.
I am even getting my skies ready to hit the slopes when the snow hits town or even up to Mammouth.
The bottom line is that no way the fat cat owners are going to spoil my fall and winter. If anything, out of spite I will double down on fun active things to the max.

    GO KINGS PLAYERS GO!

  2. Love a good Bettman beat down dream. He will be busy on Yom Kippur.

  3. First, take a big step back and literally FUCK YOUR OWN FACE! !

    What a shit-stain he is..
    Thanks commish!

  4. I’ve watched game 6 25 times. Almost on par with you. I don’t have the locker room celebrations though. 😞

Speaking of par I’ve rediscovered how boring golf is to watch. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  5. Once again my friend you come thru in flying colors. Had a crappy day in the middle of a crappy week, and then read this and got my first laugh all day:

Like a new (but rabid) Kings fan, I’ve watched every Kings playoff game NHL Network shows, the DVD at least once a week. I esp enjoyed the series against the Blues, maybe because Hitch didn’t bitch or moan post game, gave full props to the Kings and didn’t cry about the refs. I think that translates downward to the team. I really enjoyed that series.

The only Flyers game I’ve rewatched in it’s entirety is the reply of the Flyers Bruins game 7 from 2010 (was on NHL Network a couple nights ago) because that was such an epic comeback, not just down 0-3 in a series but 3-0 in the 7th game. Gagne had 4 goals in the only (las t) 3 games in that series he played in and 2 were GWG. Also watched part of game 1 from 2006 Flyers /Sabres playoffs. Typical Ed Snider who has a talent for butchering a team. That team just came off the 2005 Calder Cup the spring before and had a plethora of young talent from the PHantoms\ Patrick Sharpe, Umberger, Siedenberg, Lupul, Richards, Carter. The commentators kept citing that ‘what a bright future for this team wit hall of this young talent’. Not really, not one player from that 2006 playoff team remains on the team today and 5 of those Calder Cup guys have won the Cup with other teams. Ed just doesn’t get it, you build a champion, you don’t buy one.

Funny, thing, someone I work with who is hockey nut like me, emailed me this link today of 20 biggest hitters in the league who you’d love to see check Bettman. Three Kings made the list and each player gets a video of a solid hit he’s done.
