Monarchs Ménage a Trois – Tigers, Whales and Bears. Oh my?

As I sit in the stands watching the Monarchs warm up before their dance with the Sound Tigers, I hope that the demons of their shootout loss to the WBS Penguins on Sunday is out of their heads. After having an early lead (3-0 at one point), they gave up the farm and eventually the game in the third.

Softy goal Jones strikes again.

And damn you and your shootout voodoo, Zatkoff! You better have bought your teammates dinner after they bailed your ass out.

It better have been something expensive too, you know, like that pricey, fancy dinner you buy a date in hopes of getting laid.

At any rate, this weekend the Monarchs play three games in just as many nights. Tonight is against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at home, then two away; one against the Connecticut Whale and one against the Providence Bruins.

Basically a game that really matters and two that simply offer up a chance for conference points. Every point counts now…

Earlier this week, the Monarchs held their annual “At Your Service” dinner which me and the Mrs attended with friends. During the event, players act as waitstaff. We had the pleasure of Jordan Weal and Linden Vey. Great couple of guys!

Awesome waiters too.

At any rate, as my huge bowl of nachos settles in my belly — my pregame ritual if you will — I ready myself to watch some great hockey.

These cats be rollin’!

Go Monarchs (and Kings)!
