In just about every other game in these playoffs, the other team has been the one chasing.

The Kings, once again, had to deal with a Quick error that led to a goal. Then, they gave up a fluky one. Meanwhile, they just weren’t getting anything on the other end because Smith was both very good and lucky. The Kings still outplayed Phoenix. I’m happy with what they did. It’s disappointing to lose, but they’re still of course in the driver’s seat.

Why I said the Kings played shitty is because a big part of their success this postseason has been there forecheck and backcheck. Those two things have thrown the opposition off their game the whole playoffs. It was non-existent today (maybe a little bit of exaggeration, but still). This allowed the Yotes to control large portions of the game and it seemed we couldn’t get our cycle going as well as we have. I give credit to Phoenix, they played a good game. We had our chances, just couldn’t find the back of the net.
