Surly and I have been very supportive of Ilya Kovalchuk, even after he decided to stay in New Jersey. I have advocated for Kovalchuk to get the Captaincy. We came up with reasonable justifications why Ilya was a healthy scratch back in 2010. So, Surly and I were kicking back and watching the New Jersey Cupcakes practice when lo and behold, we saw Ilya Kovalchuk pull a cell phone out of his glove of all things and answer the phone.
